45 President of the United States of America, Donald John Trump has made his intentions known to contest for President in 2024.
“America’s comeback starts right now,” the 76-year-old former US President told hundreds of supporters gathered in an ornate American flag-draped ballroom at his palatial Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.
“The voting will be much different. Are you getting ready?” Trump said.
“This will not be my campaign. This will be our campaign all together,” Trump announced to a cheering crowd.
Agence France-Presse reports that Mr. Trump’s entry into the presidential race this early is an attempt to pass a signal to aspirants in the Republican party nursing same ambition.
Trump has been the target of streams of investigations before, during and after his first term as president.
He is yet to accept defeat after losing the 2020 presidential election to former Vice President, Joe Biden.
