The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arrested and detained Nigerian legendary entertainer, Oladapo Oyebanji popularly known as D’banj.
D’banj was arrested and detained on Tuesday, December 6. He had been invited by the anti-graft agency for many weeks but refused to show up. He claimed to be overseas for music concerts each time he was invited to appear for interrogation over the fraud case.
The singer is accused of fraudulently diverting funds that were meant for the beneficiaries of the Federal Government N-Power project, an empowerment scheme that empowers youth.
According to investigations, D’banj and his accomplices in government, stole funds by way of introducing ghost beneficiaries in the scheme. The monies were traced to their accounts.
