Following the controversy surrounding the death of Ifeanyi Adeleke, son of music artiste, Davido, the Lagos state Police command has released six of the eight arrested domestic staff of Davido.
Punch Newspaper reports that the autopsy to be conducted by the police will determine whether Ifeanyi actually died from drowning like it was widely reported.
A close source who spoke on the issue said it is the police’s standard procedure to conduct autopsy on such an incident. However, the family has the right to stop the process.
“Though the family members are not saying anything yet because they are still in shock but until anybody says stop, the standard procedure is to conduct an autopsy and we are going to follow that procedure just like in any case of death.” The source said.
He continued; “It was the work of the nanny to take care of the child (Ifeanyi); the nanny was negligent or how could the boy have left the house without her knowledge?
When contacted, the Public relations Officer of the Lagos state police command, SP Ben Hundeyin said: “I spoke with the DPO and he said the nanny and the cook have been detained. Other domestic workers brought in for questioning were released”
